Declawing requires the last joint of a cat’s “toes” to be removed – this is a very painful and traumatic experience for the cat. It lowers their quality of life and causes extreme long-term suffering.
Declawed cats lose their only way to defend themselves if they are abandoned or get lost. Declawed cats often become more aggressive, live with lasting pain, and some even suffer from feline depression.
