LILY

LILY

Sharing is caring!

Meet Lily! She’s an adorable four-year-old girl from Iowa.

Her human mom, Karen, tells us all about Lily in the story below.

Keep reading to discover how fate brought the two of them together in the most beautiful way!

Love at First Site

Lily chose me.

I was at the local humane society wanting to get a cat or kitten because my 19-20 year old Siamese cat had recently passed away.

I was in the cat room looking at all the cats and kittens when something tapped me on the shoulder…

I turned around and there was this cute ginger kitten sitting on a branch of a cat tree.

She had reached out a paw and touched me. Of course it was love at first sight!

She came home with me with me that day. I named her Lily because she just looked like a Lily to me!

What does Lily like to do for fun?

Lily loves to eat! She’s a little chubby.

She plays with anything that is on the floor: rubber bands, hair ties, pieces of paper etc.

She rarely plays with her cat toys (typical cat). She loves cardboard boxes and brown paper bags.

What are Lily’s favorite treats and snacks?

Lily eats grain free hard food.

Right now she is on a diet because she is getting a little too chubby.

She’s not too fond of her diet food though.

She loves cat nip. She rolls in it, eats it and generally goes crazy!

What is Lily’s personality like?

Lily is very loving. She starts purring when you say her name.

She sleeps with me. She has just recently started to like sitting on my lap.

Lily is my alarm clock. She thinks it is time to get up when it starts to get light outside.

She won’t leave me alone until I get out of bed. Then she has some breakfast (she has an auto feeder) and goes back to sleep usually under the kitchen table.

Since I’m retired I would really like to sleep in, but Lily has other ideas.

But I can’t resist her sweet little chubby face and cute purrs!

Lily is a beautiful kitty. My Tuxie does the same thing in the morning and when I get up because of his persistence , he goes back to bed .

Lily sounds like a sweet rescue that appreciates her Mom, Karen! It’s funny how pets can give us a reason to get up in the morning, a reason to stay healthy cause they need us!! When you open your heart to the best roommate ever!!

I'm retired too but there's no sleeping in with my two. One or both will start kneading me on the tummy and if that doesn't work then its on the neck or cheeks. It's time to get up even if they're not asking for food or treats. But it's a good habit to not sleep in so I have no qualms about any of this.
