Adorable 4-Eared Rescue Kitten Captures Hearts All Over The World

Sharing is caring!

This summer in Ankara, Turkey, a family spotted a litter of grey kittens in their backyard.

The litter seemed normal at first glance, but this was hardly the case.

Upon taking a closer look, the family noticed one of the kittens was unlike any kitten they’d ever seen.

Keep reading to uncover the mystery behind this peculiar kitten!

Out of The Ordinary

The family couldn’t believe their eyes.

One of the kittens in the litter had an extra pair of ears.

The family was nothing short of surprised to find such an unusual kitten in their backyard.

Looks aside, the family knew this kitten deserved a loving home along with the rest of her siblings.

They immediately reached out to friends and family, hoping someone would point them in the right direction.

Love at First Sight

Luckily, a woman named Canis Dosemeci responded to family and asked to see the kitten.

It was love at first sight.

Canis’s heart melted the second she saw the four-eared wonder kitten.

She decided right there and then to adopt the kitten.

It was best decision, especially since Canis knew that a kitten with such a unique feature would have difficulty getting adopted or potentially end up in the wrong hands.

“We have never thought of buying a cat, we just wanted to rescue a cat from the street, and we wanted to adopt her,” Canis told The Huffington Post.

Canis took the kitten home and gave her a unique name to match her unique appearance: Midas.

Midas was a king in Greek mythology who turned everything he touched into gold.

He offended the god, Apollo who punished him by giving him donkey ears.

The kitten’s name is ironic as donkey ears were supposed to shame the mythical Greek king, but Midas’s ears are a badge of honor!

Quadruple the Cuteness

Canis took Midas to the vet for a health check hoping she’d learn more about Midas’s ears.

The vet found that Midas doesn’t actually have 4 true ears.

She has two regular ear canals along with two smaller flaps in front of each ear.

These extra flaps her appear to have four ears when in reality, she has two functional ears like a normal cat.

A genetic mutation is responsible for her extra ear flaps.

Cannis worried how these extra flaps would affect Midas’s health.

Fortunately, the vets discovered that Midas was healthy and her extra ear flaps didn’t seem to cause her any trouble.

While Midas doesn’t have superhero hearing, she certainly isn’t in pain.

Relieved by Midas’s clean bill of health, Canis proceeded to introduce her new kitten to her resident cat and dog.

It didn’t take long for the four-eared sweetheart to warm up to her new housemates.

Midas and her fur family get along quite well!

In fact, Canis considers her one of the goofiest, friendliest cats she’s ever met.

A Star Is Born

Wanting to share Midas’ goofiness and charming personality with the world, Canis made Midas her very own Instagram page.

There, she posted pictures and videos of Midas playing with her toys and giving her dog brother a kiss on the nose.

Hundreds and thousands of people across the world caught wind of the adorable four-eared kitten and marveled at her cuteness!

In less than two months, Midas’s has gained over 125,000 followers from all over the world!

What happened to the kitty's sublins? Did the owner just grab the 4 ear kitty hoping for a pot of gold. Rescue more cats !

@Shirl Linda, that is what I was thinking. Sibling should never be separated as such a young age especially from their mom. It doesn't matter what the vet tell you. Don't understand why they didn't pair this Kitty up with one or two of her siblings. Humans have no regards for the feelings of other animals.
