In February of 2017, an Arkansas woman spotted a starving kitten taking refuge in the parking lot of a car rental company.

Little did she know, that kitten would change her family’s life forever…

Keep reading to discover how this kitten went from rags to riches!

A Rough Start

LaDonna Denman was shocked when she discovered a tiny orange kitten scampering from one side of a busy road to another.

After taking a closer look, she discovered the kitten was doing its best to survive at a local car rental company.

The kitten was skin and bones. His orange coat was covered in dirt and grease.

Despite how skinny he was, she knew was trying to feed him.

She found the little kitten ferociously eating moldy leftover spaghetti someone had left in a dish.

Life or Death

LaDonna knew it was only a matter of time before this little kitten was hit by a car.

To make matters worse, Arkansas was about to experience one of the worst rain storms in the state’s history.

In freezing February temperatures, there was no way this little kitten would have survived the storm.

LaDonna knew she had to take action immediately!

Taking Action

Denman used a trail of cat food to lure Rodney into her arms.

As soon as he was close enough, she used a towel to scoop him up and take him home.

The little orange kitten was in horrible condition and needed immediate medical attention.

LaDonna and her daughter, Brittney, took the kitten to the vet where he was given shots, treated for parasites, and given antibiotics for an infection.

The vet estimated he was only five or six weeks old.

For a kitten that was in such horrible shape, he was so happy to be in good hands!

“The vet said that even if he survived the storm, it was only a matter of time before he died from the infection. He was very lucky we were there for him just in time,” Brittany told National Kitty.

A Special Connection

As Rodney’s condition improved, his personality started to shine.

It was clear Rodney knew he was rescued. He would show how grateful he was by purring up a storm in Brittany and Ladonna’s arms.

Brittany named the spunky orange kitten Rodney.

Britany and her mom spent the next few weeks giving Rodney the love and attention he deserved all along.

Once Rodney was in good health, it was time for him to find a forever home.

LaDonna found someone who wanted to adopt Rodney, but Brittany was having second thoughts…

Under Rodney’s Spell

From the second Brittany laid eyes on Rodney, they had an undeniable connection.

“I just remember the first night Rodney was in our bathroom. I had a connection with him I’ve never experienced with another animal,” said Brittany.

The idea of Rodney leaving her life was unbearable. He had claimed a special place in her heart.

At that moment, she decided Rodney wasn’t going anywhere! He had been with his forever family all along.

Living the Good Life

Rodney hit the jackpot with Brittany. He is spoiled rotten!

He drinks fresh water from a fountain and eats only the highest quality cat food.

Sometime when he’s a very good boy, Brittany rewards him with a rare steak!

Rodney is mischievous, spunky, and endlessly entertaining.

He spends his days soaking up the sun and lounging in Brittany’s lap.

Sometimes he goes outside on a harness where he can enjoy outdoor adventures with his mom.

“I would do anything for this little stinker!” said Brittany.
